We're Engaged! (The full story)

We've both been in a state of bliss ever since Alex proposed but somehow he managed to gather his mental facilities long enough to tell the full story of his engagement ring adventures over on ArborBoy. I'll leave it to Alex to share the details since my story is a lot simpler. I thought I was getting my graduation present, just something silly and fun. When I opened my eyes there was a jewelry box sitting in front of me. It was sweet, simple and intimate. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Alex thinks I was on to him but, for the record, I had no idea. He had me completely fooled.

He's amazing.

I can't begin to explain how happy we are. Thank you, everyone, for all the congratulations!

Somebody's getting married...

We are!!! Alex asked me to married him and of course I said yes.

And this is the beautiful ring he chose for me.

I think it's absolutely perfect.

It's football, bitches.

It's playoff season and yes, the Steelers are still in it. So are the Eagles. So are the Giants. I have plenty of teams to cheer for and a weekend of cold weather. If you need me, I'll be parked in front of the idiot box for the rest of the weekend with a beer and some tasty food.

As for the picture, that's Troy Polamalu #43.

I heart Troy Polamalu.

Gone Shopping

Just before the holidays I finished my last semester of school and now I'm slowly figuring out a full time job while studying for my licensing exam. It sort of feels like I'm on my final Christmas Break and, to be quite honest, I feel perfectly justified in riding the holidays, the exam, and my upcoming birthday to their fullest. There's plenty of good football to be watched (Steelers!), leftover holiday sweets to be eaten and, for the first time in a long time, I have a little extra cash to go buy myself something pretty so there is shopping to be had (with Arbor Boy's gentle prodding. Thanks, love). And, in another first in a long time, I won't feel guilty about spending a little money on myself. I've already been to Bloomingdale's but the tourists scared me off before I could spree but I vow to go back and give my credit card a little cardio.
